Our passion…
The manual Living Well & Finishing Well is a product of Larry’s 2020 doctoral project. It benefits residents of a retirement community by reducing fears of the future, giving them a clearer picture of that future, and equipping them to make wise choices about what may lie ahead. It can help residents to be Living Well & Finishing Well!
Larry’s dad moved into an apartment in a retirement home following his wife’s death. As his health declined, the family could see he needed more help. However, every time he was encouraged to consider a move to Personal Care, he declared, “If I move over there, I’ll die.” After multiple falls, it became clear he had to move. Unfortunately, it was too late for him acclimate well and to benefit from Personal Care. He had to go directly to Health Care instead and did not live more than a year afterwards.
If Larry’s dad and family had read this manual, would it have helped him navigate those later years more effectively? We passionately believe it would.
And we hope YOU take advantage of this resource that can help YOU to be Living Well & Finishing Well.
Lawrence (Larry) Kuch, DMin
Earlier in life, Larry and his first wife were Wycliffe missionaries in Ghana, West Africa, where he translated the book of Mark into the Birifor language. Since marrying Nancy, he has helped publish her father’s memoir Son of a Blacksmith: Forging a Life of Faithfulness.
Gifted and called to be a chaplain, he has served with Caring Hospice since 2016 and Westminster Presbyterian Church since 2021.
Larry earned his Doctor of Ministry in Chaplaincy from Lancaster Bible College in 2020. His desire is to take the product developed for his doctoral project, the Living Well & Finishing Well manual, to retirement communities…locally and nationally.
Nancy Sebastian Kuch, M.Ed
Nancy holds a Masters in Education and taught elementary school in her early years. She's also been a popular motivational speaker and nationally published author. She's even traveled abroad, teaching and speaking. In recent years, Nancy has enjoyed working with individuals as a life coach and caregiving for family members and friends as a Power of Attorney.
The manual, Living Well & Finishing Well utilizes all of her publishing, marketing and caregiving skills. And it is a joy for her to work with her husband, Larry!
What we do for fun!
We met on the eHarmony, a Christian dating website, in 2014 and married in 2015. We found we enjoyed lots of common interests such as riding motorcycles, parachuting (yes, jumping out of airplanes) and travel. Today one of our favorite activities is biking…on electric-assist bicycles. Because we LOVE to travel together, customizing manuals for facilities around the country is a great adventure complete with van life and biking. Of course, we also adore spending time with our ten grandkids, ages one to nine!
